What Should you Pack for a Holiday in Bournemouth?

Being Prepared in Bournemouth

Bournemouth is lucky enough to have a temperate microclimate. That means that during the summer, you should be able to soak up the warmth and even build your tan on the beach. Of course, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t prepare for rain too – this is England after all!

Here are some of the things you should take with you on your Bournemouth adventure to ensure that you’re ready for anything:

• Layered clothing: Whether the temperature is expected to be hot or not, it’s good to bring layers with you just in case. When you layer your clothing, you can quickly add or remove extra warmth as you need it, with no need to return to your hotel!
• Sun protection: Because of our happy little microclimate here in Bournemouth, the sun can get really hot sometimes. Remember to protect your skin from exposure even if it doesn’t feel too warm outside. Keep suntan lotion, hats and sunglasses with you at all times.
• Rain protection: If you’re worried that it might rain during your trip, it doesn’t hurt to keep an umbrella in your back just in case. You can even get some waterproof macs to put into your pocket if things start to go downhill weather-wise.
• Comfortable shoes: One of the most important things to pack when visiting Bournemouth, is a comfortable set of shoes. There’s so much to do and see that you could end up with quite a blister if you’re wearing shoes that are too tight, or brand-new.
